Have a 69 with an antenna that looks just like the expensive repro except the top bezel has 2 pins on it at opposite directions and 2 screws holding it down. Do i have the wrong antenna or is it an early late production thing ? On top of the fender is a gasket,then a plate w 2 screws diagonal and two holes for the pins in the bezel.Looks like its been there for 40 plus years ...

Should be four screws to the fender, pins into the gasket from the flange (if that is what you mean) sound right though.

A picture would go a long way here toward helping you determine what you have.

I replaced mine ages ago with a one-piece screw-in mast antenna like the ones used on 72 Montegos.

The original telescoping antenna on my Cougar had sort of an airfoil cross-section if I remember correctly.
