This is a real 428 CJ Cougar but the block is not the original. This car was used for drag racing and was purchased without a motor and transmission. I have installed a completely rebuilt 428 CJ with approximately 500HP and a newly rebuilt C6 transmission. The car has new KYB shocks, newly rebuilt front end, new exhaust and all new tires and wheels. The traction bars and frame connectors are still on the car from its drag racing days and give it a improved traction.
The interior is in extremely good condition with red leather interior. The new headliner and insulation are included but not yet installed. The body is very straight but there is some minor repairs required on the hood.
It is a factory air car (not currently charged, waiting for new hoses; PS, PB, and all the XR7 standard equipment.
This is a very rare example of the pony car/muscle car from Mercury in a beautiful factory red color with an excellent black vinyl top. Have the Marti Report, Build Sheet, Owners Manual and some other items.
I will consider taking a partial trade if you have something I am interested in. No motorcycles. $29,950.
You can see more photos of this car at: http://www.legendarycollectorcars.com/museum/1969-mercury-cougar-xr7-428-cj/
