Is there any trick to getting the indian head out of the center grille piece in order to replace the black surround? I scraped off the black adhesive inside but still can't budge it. I don't want to force it too much and cause more problems as a result. Thanks for the help.

Ben, if you haven't already, it'll be easier if you remove the whole center grille and spray like WD40 on the back side where the Mercury head stud is. Then tap gently a few times and then it will pop out. Edit: I just remembered, that before spraying WD40, there is some sealant around the stud, just remove the sealant, then spray the WD40. John

Pretty sure the guy in your grille center is actually Mercury, the god of speed. Not the head of indian Chief Bromden LOL!

That makes sense! I couldn't figure out why they'd have an Indian head on a cougar:). So much for the Greek mythology class I took in college.
