Ok guys I'm havin' a case of CRS..... Just by looking at the engine what is the visual difference between the 302 and a 351W? It's been awhile since I've really eyeballed a 351W.

also please don't say size......
Havin' a senior moment.....LOL

Deck height? Try looking right above the water pump. if the W/P housing is really close to the deck of the block...it's a 302. If there's about an inch between the W/P housing and the deck...it's a 351W. There could be an easier way though...

Also, if there's no W/P on there, just go by the W/P ports.

Hey Don,

Look up my old post, "AHHH! My windsor isn't a windsor"

Many pages of advice on how to tell them apart there!

Plus, you can just tell by looking at the intake manifold. The intake on a 351 is wider, than the 302.

The reason I was askin' was there's a guy that is selling his 67 standard. the car has been previously restored(not by current owner) The last time I looked at it I swear that the air cleaner said 351 but the guy says it has a 302... hence the question.
I should be putting this cat up in the for sale forum this weekend if we can get some pics of it.....
