Well I can say that my engine swap was good, but had issues from the start. But to make a long story short, I'm dumping my 351 for a 302. Too many clearence issues, and the headers blew up power steering.

I have a 1989 302 and was trying to get an oil pan. Searched to see if any oil pan was "universal" enough for the 302 to fit in a cougar. And tried to see if the actual pan flange dimension's were the same.......no luck. So I ask the collective knowledge of here in hopes of an answer. I want to say I can purchase an oil pan for a '67 302 and it'll work just fine, but just want to be certain.

Thanks, Justin

You need a front sump pan and oil pickup tube for that. The late 80's "fox body" pans don't work. Also the 351W has to large of journals....but the good news is the flanges are all the same! ;>) A pan from an early 289/302 will work along with the correct pickup tube.....dime a dozen at your boneyard or ebay
