[GFTL#8]

After finding a intake manifold leak it was time to go to work.
I am having problems getting my distributor out of the block.
We fished the intake out and still no luck. When I pull up on it
it will only move about a 1/4 inch then stop. I have tried turning the
crank by hand and by the starter thinking maybe something was just bound up
a little, no luck. I have put a small amount of pressure on it with a small pry bar and
still no luck. This is my first Mercury so it's all new to me. Any hints out there?

Spray a lot of PB blaster or WD40 around the shaft and keep working it up a down, use two pry bars one on each side and pry hard, there is a lot of hardened gunk around the shaft.

They can be a real bear - galvanic corrosion doesnt help. persistance will pay off
