Make sure to keep open June 27, 28 and 29, 2003 for the Cougar Nationals in Atlantic City, NewJersey. Details will be in the upcoming issue of At The Sign Of The Cat. You can also check for updates on the Cougar Club of New Jersey web site at www.ccnjonline.com

I plan to drive my blue GTE there. Sounds like a great location for the show!

Great. Look forward to meeting you there. It is a great location for a show, and the hotel layout will allow us to keep the cars away from others parking at the hotel. The casinos are nearby, and Ocean City and other child friendly towns are also nearby. I drove on the Boardwalk this year in the Miss America pagent parade this fall. We had talked about doing a boardwalk drive as part of the show, but since we are in beach season, our only possible option would be very early friday morning.

2002 Nats

Jim,
All the information for the Cape May Lewes ferry can be found at,

http://www.capemay-lewesferry.com/

It is a really neat trip across the Delaware Bay, and it leaves you off in Cape May, one of the nicest and most historic towns on the Jersey coast. Although the ferry trip is kind of long, for those traveling a good distance it is a nice way to break up the trip. Also, It puts you at the south end of the Garden State Pkwy, which means you'd be traveling north to AC, so the traffic should be a little better. I believe you can make reservations online. Let me know if there are any other questions from the Delmarva group.

Hmmm...wondering if I should head down there...I'm about 45 mins away, but I'm not sure if I can make a weekend out of it...so what are we doing, anyway? I'm guessing there will be a show. I'd turn out for that, just so everyone can see how poopy my paint job is up close! Woo!

I guess CCNJ will keep us updated? The irony is, where the CCNJ meets at Garvey's pub is only about 10 minutes from where I work...any of you CCNJ guys reading this? Would it be considered rude to show up, just to check things out and say hi?

Dec 14 at Garvey's

Zero,
You are more than welcome to join the CCNJ at any of the meetings. As is anyone else for that matter. I will be attending the meeting at Garveys on the 14th along with Mrs.G and my two young G's :).
December 14th is also our club holiday gathering, so you would be able to meet many of the club members and their families. We will be meeting every month over the next year to make sure we have crossed all of t's and dotted all of the i's for the national show.
I live close to you in Mount Laurel, if you'd like to caravan to Garvey's Pub contact me off list. The CCNJ is a great group of people, and we are looking forward to putting on a great show next spring in Atlantic City.
If any of you other fine Cougar folks plan on attending and have any questions about travel, accomodations, activities, or attractions, feel free to check out the CCNJ website via the link Steve posted above or contact any of the CCNJ members, including myself, directly.

Jim

I have never taken the ferry. My wife and I were going to take a day trip in the cougar to the Delaware beaches this summer and take the ferry, but we just never got the time. Maybe next summer. It brings you in about 30 miles south of Atlantic City.

Try to make the december meeting. We have a great group of members, and the meeting and holiday party will be a good time. Our cars run from beautiful restorations to beaters, and all are welcome. In 98 or 99, I went but didn't take my car to the nats in Carlisle because of the rust holes in the rear quarter and the faded paint. I was sorry I didn't, and it wouldn't have been the worst car there.

I think we may have met a couple years ago at a show in Riverside. There can't be a lot of 460 cougars running around south Jersey. The car I saw had a homemade ram-air system.

Ugh, yeah that was me. I'm trying to figure out if I can mount a set of small fans in there instead, to try and cover up the holes! The guy before me just torched holes in the wheelwells and stuck hose in there. Quite butch, if ya ask me...I'll have to clean that up before I show up at that meeting! Embarassed? Nah, not me!:D

I'm really looking forward to the nationals, as this will be the first national meeting for me. I plan on bringing my convertible, even though it's not a show car. As for the ferry I've taken it many times. The trip takes about 70 minutes and it's a nice trip, complete with a bar and dogs are welcome! The only thing about the ferry is that they pack the cars in tight, so watch out for door dings. I also hope to go to theCCONJ meeting in december. I'm a member of the CCOA, but haven't yet joined the CCONJ. Where is Garvey's pub, off exit 8A???? Hope to meet everyone on the 14th!

Garvey's

drush5,
There are directions to Garvey's pub on the CCNJ website. I followed the directions last month and got there without a problem. Hope to see you there.

Nationals!

Ok all, I've never had my baby in a show, but Atlantic City is very tempting. It'll be about a 6 hr ride, but the best part is that I'll be in "Cougar Heaven"! Hey, no mustangs allowed...right:D
