I recently purchased a 1973 Q code coupe. The air cleaner appears to be original as is the paint and interior. The air cleaner lid is not chrome. Should it be chrome?

Are you talking about the flex one going to the exhaust manifold ? two options see link aluminum and paper I have the paper

I seen this fresh air intake hose on Ebay a while back. My hose is different. It is actually 4 1/4" inches wide by 2 1/2"
The 73 hose must be smaller.

Thery were chrome in 72 and blue in 73 on Mustang Q codes as on all of mine. Cougars are most likely the same. I think I heard some early 73's had chrome before the change.
