I'm looking for your opinions...
I have a 1970 Cougar XR7 that I am about to start the restoration.
Vin says it had a 351W. the 351 it came with has a date code of 72. OK, close, but not where a purest would like it.
With that said, Do I keep the 351W and build it or drop in a 460 from a F150 (1987) with all the trimmings including Fuel Injection, and computer. I'm planning on Fuel Injection anyway. Or do I put in a 429 or 351C. What say you? Thanks

Re do the 351. It's lighter and will put out a lot of power. And looks like the original.

I second staying with a freshened up 351 W .. built right it will be good on fuel and have all the power you need for cruising and show well .. you start down that big block swap road and you'll have a money pit.
