All,

We are trying to install an aluminum radiator in my son's 1970 Cougar (351C-2V). We found one online and bought it, looks great and seems to fit perfectly. The issue is the top saddle to hold it in. The saddle in 2 inches across, while the new radiator is 2 3/4 inches. The place we got the new one from, said to use a 4-row saddle. Anyone know where I can get one or what year and car I could remove it from in a local junkyard? Any info would be great! My son has been going crazy just staring at the shinny new radiator, he wants it installed to make sure it works.

Thanks,
Dave

I have never heard of an installation saddle made for an aftermarket radiator on our vintage Cats.

I think all the original saddles are the same weather 2 , 3 , or 4 row. Because it is the size of the tank not the rows.

Yeah, It really wouldn't take much to make one - or modify it if you want to maintain the look. Should be fairly inexpensive to have a welding shop whip that out.
