Just picked up a 69 standard. Wanting to clean out under the cowl vents, can the cover be removed easily?
i see a lot talking about spot welds but that’s seems to be to remove the lower portion. Any diagrams and pictures would be appreciated, still learning a lot about the car.
thanks!

Cover come off easily on a 69 -70. Just four or so screws. Only welded on the 67-68 Cougars.

A good way to get to those vents is to pull the fenders, cut part of the corner above the vents, plazma works good for this. Repair the vents & weld your peices back on. Other wise you are going to drill out about 100 welds. this is on a 67-68
