Good morning all. I apologize for the redundancy of this post. I have read through the large thread concerning tire/wheel sizes on various year cougars, but have not been able to answer my question. I have a 68 'c' code car. I have a newly installed a new front suspension w/ 1'' lowering springs and Shelby drop. I have new rims (US Mags u121 Ramblers), and have decided to run 17's in the front (235 45r17), but I am stuck for tire size in the rear. The wheels I have are 18x9.5 with 5.29 backspacing. There is no suspension or fender modification, though it does have air shocks installed. My question is, has anyone run a wheel of this size successfully without tubbing/rolling fenders? If so, what tire size fits?

Not about tires. But you will have a problem with your air shocks. I have seen it many time the top of the air shocks rip a hole in the shock mount. It is a week point.
