It originally was an F code 4 speed. There is a picture of the door tag in the set of pictures.

This is exactly the car I have been looking for. In 1968 I purchased a dark green 68 cougar XR7 with factory 4-speed and mags. I loved this car, but sold it to my cousin who I have lost touch with. I tried to track down this car to no avail. I sure would like to have another one, especially without a vinyl top.
