  1. Actuator Install - Side View

    The actuator installed, side view. Actuator is mounted to a bracket, to allow it to tilt forward and backward as the covers open and close. Another bracket is required to mount the assembly to the lower radiator support in an existing factory 1/2" threaded bolt hole.

    The actuator connected to the horizontal rod, which is rotated 180 degrees. Vacuum motor and vacuum lines removed. Clock springs also removed to ensure free floating assembly.

    What is the actual Throw on the headlight actuator on a cougar, mine are currently inoperative and I have to move them by hand and I am not currently able to get to the car. I am going to be using linear motors or actuators to replace the vacuum actuator setup, has anyone else done this?
