    I heard the story about a 68 Shelby that was stolen and wasn't recovered because two numbers in the VIN were inverted.
    Until the original owner spotted it at the Mid America Shelby meet.... 25 years after it was stolen.

    I think it's a shame the insurance company profits from this. I'm sure they only paid out a couple hundred and now they stand to profit $25K.

    I think they should give the original owner the right of buyback at what they paid him for it.

    what about the volkswagon that was found in a shipping container about to be sent overseas? They say they're going to find something to do with it. How about trying to contact the owner and give it back???

    Okay, look at the link in sunroof69's post - that's the lady that owned the van when it was stolen.
