  1. Cougar, Cougar license plate frame- any idea where I can find one?

I saw a photo some time ago of a Cougar that had a Cougar license plate frame that had a cougar designed into it. I've been searching the net and can't find what I'm looking for anywhere. The closest I was able to get was a post in a thread on some forum from 2001 and none of the links worked to the image, and the person said a friend purchased it at a truck stop.

Here's what the frame looks like that I'm looking for...

That looks like a Jaguar to me. Maybe search Jaguar dealers.

Don't forget the "/ Panther" part, which makes me feel a little less silly thinking that it could be a cougar.

It just looks a little more "aggressive" than the laid back casual walking cougar on the emblem.

On the other hand, it does look much more like the Jaguar logo than a cougar...

Shoot. I'd feel kinda silly putting another car companies logo on my Cougar.

    Don't worry about it.....

Jag sued Ford over the logo similarities back in 67.

Now Jag is owned by Ford.

The pic you posted of the 71/2/3 looks cool with the frame, imo.

Who owns Jaguar? Since 1989? And since Jaguar has yet to make Ford a profit we might as well comandeer their logo.

Yep, you're right. The following is from Wikipedia:

The Ford Motor Company made an offer to purchase the company in September 1989 which was accepted at an Extraordinary General Meeting in January 1990 and Jaguar was removed from the London Stock Exchange listings on 28 February 1990.

I wasn't going to say anything but you opened the door and gave me an "in."

Personally I think the whole cougar / panther / whatever on the license plate frame adds just a little too much "cheeze" factor. I would think the time would be better spent searching for parts the car really needs first.

    But that's just me.

I happen to love "cheeze"! If you thought that was a bad idea, you're gonna hate my next one!

I wanted something that would go with my new tattoos, guess this was a bad idea too?!!!!*

Actually, I have to agree with you on the cheeze factor thing. I'd be better off spending my $14.99 on something that the car could really use.

    *note: that's not really me

This is the reason it says "Cougar" under the Cat on the 67-68 headlamp door.
