Cougar / MC.Net PARTY during Barrett Jackson?

Hey folks, there have been several threads about the Barrett Jackson Auction in Scottsdale AZ. It seems that there are a bunch of Cougar folks who will be coming. How about a get together / party during the event?

I live about 15 or 20 minutes from the West World auction site. So getting here would be pretty easy.

I have been remodeling my garage and it should be done by then. I was thinking about having an open house kind of thing for the local Cougar guys, and thought that if I did it during BJ that maybe we could get everyone together.

I could bring in a bunch of beer and snacks, maybe get a few of the local cats out for a mini show, and have some fun.

The garage is going to be pretty good sized, but it might be a good idea to see how many of you would be interested in coming, and to know what night would be the best choice. Since I have kids, it would be best to do a Friday or Saturday.

Here is a link to the auction schedule:

    Bill,
I have not committed to going yet. I do want to go but I won't know for another month or so and then getting a hotel might not be possible. I think you have a great idea. I think an evening of beer and bench racing would be great. I hope people step up..... you sure have

I'm from the metro Detroit/Ann Arbor area and will have 3-6 people arriving Fri afternoon. We have 3-4 hotells booked and might not need them all. Count us in, please. We love beer, snacks and Cougars. -Ray

    Friday, Friday, Friday!

Definitely save some time for Saturday night to go to Pavillions. Usually around 1000 cars there and it's just a strip mall parking lot with a diner style McDonald's hosting. Crazy stuff.
This is a from another thread, but it is a good point. Friday night would make the most sense because it would leave Saturday for the Pavillions show.

So Friday looks like the date...

As Hedley Lamar in Blazing Saddles so eloquently said:

"I want rustlers, cut throats, murderers, bounty hunters, desperados, mugs, pugs, thugs, nitwits, halfwits, dimwits, vipers, snipers, con men, Indian agents, Mexican bandits, muggers, buggerers, bushwhackers, hornswogglers, horse thieves, bull dykes, train robbers, bank robbers, ass-kickers, ****-kickers and Methodists."
And in the inmortal words of Olsen Johnson:
All right, we'll give some beer to the Camaro lovers and the the Grand Prixers, but we DON'T WANT THE MUSTANGS.

    Oh heck, we'll take everybody...

Still on for Friday the 20th!

Well, the garage is far from done, but the beer will still be cold!

    Here are the details:

    Date: January 20th, Friday

Time: 5:30 to 9:00 or there abouts... come and go as you please, or the beer runs out.

    Location:

    16147 East Red Mountain Trail
    Fountain Hills, AZ

    Phone: 480-837-9129

How to get there: From BJ auction, Find your way to Frank Lloyd Wright Blvd. Take FLW to the East / South until you come to Shea Blvd. Turn Left (East) onto Shea and continue to Saguaro Blvd. Turn Right (South) onto Saguaro. Look for Red Mountain Trail to your left. Turn Left on to Red Mountain Trail. My house is at the top left of the culdusac. The construction will be obvious.

From Scottsdale Find your way to Shea and follow it East to Saguaro. It is a pretty good trip expect about 20 minutes from Scottsdale road to Saguaro, longer in traffic.

From Tempe and the south, take highway 87 to Shea, then left at the first light, Shea. Highway 87 runs through the Indian reservation so it will feel like you are in the middle of no where, just keep going, it is about 12 miles on 87 to Fountain Hills.

    Hope to see you there!

    Thanks, Bill Basore

Pretty much, just come as you are, but if you have a special beer requirement, or a brand you want to share, bring it a long.

Of course rare Gt-E or XR7-G parts are always a fashionable and appropriate gift... Just kidding LOL!
