    Cool Wiper Blades And Arms!!

Here is a new topic that I have recently run across.
The original wiper arms and blades for the 67-70 Cougar.
Anybody got the scoop? I need to be "educated"..
I have a few different sets.
The arms are TRICO and are sort of a frosted finish.
Another set seems to be shiny stainless steel.
The frosted ones have an "X" under side and the shiny ones do not?
Does this mean anything? Both say Trico underneath.
    Frosted finish for 67/68?
    Shiny stainless for 69/70?
Now the wiper blades. original should say "trico" or "trico-made in the usa".
Which of the two is for which years?
I think of course if you have replacement blades you might have an "anco" or something-
(I don't think anco was original but still a close match and the best "original looking replacement blade right)?
The rubber refills are in reproduction so not really relavent. Many people instead of replacing the rubber refill only, replaced the whole blade with rubber and discarded the original "trico and trico made in the USA" blades for the arco or others. Bummer.
Am I correct in this and what are the differences?
    Thanks "catfans".

Yes, anco would be the most common replacement for the wiper blade and even just the rubber refills. I think all wiper arms to be correct have the angle "V" shape on the top of the blades instead of some replacements that are flat. Some originals say "trico" and some say "trico-made in the USA". Which is which and what years are correct.
    Hope many others weigh in.

    OK Brad,

I looked at my wipers this morning, but I had only scanned your post and wasn't really comprehending what you are looking for. Consequently, I didn't pay much attention to the wiper arms, except to note that they are sort of a satin silver finish (not chrome). I'll look better next time I peel back the cover.

I zeroed in on the wiper blades. The driver's side blade is shiny silver (chrome), says "Trico" on it and is bent in a simple inverted "u" shape (2 bends). The passenger side blade has the same finish as the wiper arms, says "Trico made in USA" on it and has a more complicated "u" shape (4 bends).

Unless they are different side to side, I'm thinking my driver's side arm is incorrect.

Thanks a LOT, pal. Now I've got something else to obsess over with this car.

    - Chris

    Don to the rescue!

I just spoke to Don Rush at WCCC. He says the satin silver, "Trico made in USA" is correct. He's got a pile of good ones and is sending me one for the driver's side. He says there is no difference L to R.

Yah my fault. Been away from the boards and wasn't able to answer. Anyway I have lots of arms and some wiper parts that are original and correct. If anyone needs I can do my best to get some out shortly.

    67 / 68

Are frosted Trico units. Still available original type are at any of the parts dealers. Don't know anything about 69-70.

There were dealer installed deflector type blades too. I have some at home, those might be ANCO.
