Catalytic converters on a 69 mercury cougar

Hello all, i have been searching on this forum and i could not find any questions particularly on this. I was wondering with the advancements in technology has anybody put catalytic converters on there classic cougar. I have a 1969 cougar with a 408 stroker and i have added fuel injection . Supposedly they make universal catalytic converters for classics now that literally clean up any remaining smell without taking away any power. So you can drive your classic without any smell just like the new cars .Anybody tried this on there classic. Thanks . Also just in case anybody asks my air/fuel ratio at idle is 14.7 thanks.

I've never heard of someone putting a cat on a classic car myself, but I suppose you could instal a universal sport/high flow cat to improve emissions without noticeably harming performance.
