    Side glass help

Does anyone know of a shop that can adjust the side glass on my 69 XR-7 convertible?
Looking for someone in Southern California, preferably the San Diego area, but I will drive to Orange County if necessary.
All the shops I have talked with say they won't touch the side glass on the older cars, and especially Cougars and Mustangs.

Thanks in advance for any input.

Here is the link to the West Coast Classic Cougar video on the 69 window replacement which includes adjustment. It may help you do it yourself.

I had watched that video a month ago, and tried to do it myself.
It's a lot more complicated than they make it look in the video.

    Thanks

Oh well it was a thought. Good luck getting them adjusted. On my first Cougar, back in the late 70's, I had to replace the driver side window and it was a bear to get it adjusted right.

If you have a copy of the 1969 Shop Manual, in Vol 4, Body, Page 17-05-03 & 17-05-05 it will describe and show which bolts need to be loosened and the position the window needs to move it get it aligned properly. Not really that hard to do with a little patience.

  7. Hi. I also suggest you try to fix it yourself.
But, if you are fed up, and definitely ready to have it done, I would suggest The Mustang Shop of San Diego on Poplar Street.
They do great work. Not sure what you might have to pay..??.. But for quality work I would suggest them first.
If for some reason they can't do it (not likely) , or the cost is a definite no go, I can probably suggest a couple others.
Like I said though they do quality work.
I have lived in San Diego area 40 years,
And have worked at a different shop around S.D. for a few years.
Just saying... Try The Mustang Shop first.
    Good luck.

Thanks Jay. I will give the Mustang Shop a call and see what they have to say.

Thanks to everyone who chimed in. I did try doing it myself a several times, but it seemed that I just made it worse, and created other problems every time I tried.
It's a very odd design. What were those engineers thinking!
