    Tri star engines

I'm thinking about getting a 408 long block built by Tri star engines, they are located in WI. Has anyone done business with them? They use good quality parts and build lots of engines per year.

    Re: Tri star engines

    Hi Fatcat,

I did not buy an engine from them, but they were in my list of possible providers,
I liked their customer service when asking questions about the build and they always answered my question quickly and in detail.

Only reason why i did not buy from them or from blueprint engines was the lack of customisation options.
I wanted a complete turnkey engine out of the box in a different color, special valve covers and a special pulley system.

They only offered a few options and that is the reason why i went with a different company.

How their engines perform is not for me to say but when i did my research i found a few videos on youtube from
guys who had tristar engines and they were happy with their engine after talking with them.

So if customisation and engine color etc is not your concern i think this is a safe bet from what i have seen and heard so far.

Thanks for your reply Chuck. Who did you get your engine from? Did you or someone you know convert to rack & pinion? I'm trying to figure out which one to go with, to get header clearance etc.

    Re: Tri star engines

I got my engine from Prestigemotorsports in North carolina.
(still need to receive it, just got finished on and tested on the dyno, so should be here in the next week or 2..)
Really happy about their service and options available, it costs more but i had the best feeling with them.

No experience or knowing anyone who converted to the rack and pinion...
