Looks like we are gonna have an Isabel reduex this weekend. Always think about your story when this sort of thing threatens.
Hey Vert. Why did you flag my post? Thanks Jon
Dear Sir, I possess a 70, XR7 convertible which is in the process of being restored by me. Ken Gucker in Danbury Ct is doing the auto body while I am handling the rest. What I wish to do is convert it from auto to manual. I must admit that I have researched the forum but I am still confused. I will convert the drive ratio to 3.70 in the diff. Could you direct me to which Tremec trans 5 or 6 sp would fit. I also need guidance on header selection. Thank you. Mark Fothe
I investigated further and found what I thought was Ground on the solenoid is the Starter side. The only wire connected to that side is the starter. That leaves me with 3 wires connected to the Battery side, one goes to the Generator, I am hoping one of the other two is the wire from the LF. Any ideas on how I can determine that?
Hi Bob, I bought one of your electronic low fuel indicators. I hooked it up and my light stays on all the time. I remember reading that the low fuel wire should be on the positive side of the solenoid. How do I know what wire that is. Could I have a short in my circuit board?
Hi Robert i have a 67 model. Will the v1.2 ELFI work? If yes, How do I go about ordering the new ELFI unit? Thanks Pete
Hey Bob, Jenny and I hope you're continuing to mend and had a nice Christmas. I struggled with some of Jenny's instruments and finally have the majority sorted out. I had to replace the circuit board, have the tach rebuilt and replace the speedo cable three times. (the first was way too long, the second one's cable frayed at the speedometer and could not be inserted and the third need some attention as the bushing that goes into the speedometer had metal filings hanging off of it. Fortunately, I was able to use my Dremmel and clean it up so it would work.) The only issues I have continue to focus on two warning lights. The ELFI light continues to illuminate even though there is 3/4's of a tank of fuel in the car. Could I have crossed a wire somewhere ... or do you have any suggestions? Also, the Door Ajar light is also illuminated even though the doors are shut. Before I tear into the doors again, would you have any other suggestions for us to consider?
Bob, I have the same car as you….any tips on adjusting rear windows..I have followed the repair manual but can't get the windows leaning "out" enough, etc. fmg
Bob, I noticed you replaced your rear bumper brackets (the ones welded to the trunk floor/frame rail). Are those Cougar parts or Mustang. I have some Mustang pieces but they are not really correct. thanks James
Hi Bob, Can you describe how you handle welding the panels together? Do you do rosette welding? Seam welding? I'm doing most of the trunk floor in my 69 and am thinking about exactly how I'm going to join all the pieces together. Did you use any calking to fill in non-welded seams? If so what product did you use? I've been using "Weld through" primers from SEM and 3M. I haven't tried welding through them yet. I'd appreciate any tips and tricks you used. cheers James
