Noticing after I kill the motor I get a clunk. Also notice some but not all the time, I'll hear something moving at a good speed ticking. Almost like something is spinning and hitting something. But I see nothing under the hood out of the ordinary.

Thanks for posting the fix, so often these threads get dropped by the wayside, and a possible solution for somebody else, missed.

i had the same issue on a 77 firebird formula 400 many years back. it drove me nuts trying to figure out what it was. good catch!
