    The finger

So, Saturday I was out for a lite pleasure cruise in my 68. I was driving along, minding my own business, and here comes a guy the other way, in his SS monte carlo.

And I got flipped off. I was kind of offended. Then I though, well, maybe he's jealous, cuz I do get a few thumbs up as well, now and again. Mostly I just drive, and don't pay much attention to the people around me.

You ever have anybody flip you off when you are driving your race car?

Not my race car (don't have one LOL!!), but a few weeks ago I was headed home from work right after the beginning of one of several snow storms we have had recently. The roads were already getting nasty. Started up a hill (on a 4-lane road) and an idiot in a late model trans am was fishtailing like all get out trying to make it up said hill. I moved over into the outside lane (like several others) and passed him at 20-25 MPH (driving my daily driver--'93 LeBaron 'vert). So what does this 'idiot' do? You guessed it: Still fishtailing, I watch him roll down his window (manually), stick his arm out the window, and flys the 'this is my IQ' finger. No clue........

    Tee Hee...
Maybe! If I see him again, I'll give him the "wanna race?" rev on the gas pedal, and see what happens. I had a yvech pick up do that to me the other night, snuck along side and gave it some gas.

I don't mind stuff meant in good fun.The finger, to me, isn't funny, and I get offended.

Maybe I should "lighten up Francis"...

Yeah, I don't own a "race car" either. But a few weeks ago I had to stand my daily driver on it's nose to avoid hitting the "certain female" who cut me off. When I hit the horn in frustration. I got flipped off by her free hand. Of course, the other hand was busy texting or dialing the cell phone or some other sh!t.

I saw a guy the other day TRYING to get his '85 SS Monte Carlo Sideways. He Failed Miserably. He could barely squeal the tires. In the middle of traffic. If I was as Stupid as him, I would have done doughnuts around him. Just to show what a Real Car can do. I was driving my Camaro, but one of the Cougars would have been even more embarrassing to him, I think.

ah yes the Monte Carlo S.S. of the 80's, aka the Super Slow....

although the 78-88 G body platform is excellent for drag racing. some simple bolt on's and you can get those cars to hook like crazy.

"he may be carrying a bigger gun than you.."

Good point. I don't have a pistol, (yet) or a conceal and carry permit. Although everything I drive has an aluminum ball bat in it, in case of spontaneous sporting event.........

I'm not going to lose any sleep over it, but it just caught me wrong. If I knew him, or had raced him, that's one thing. Randomly flipping a guy off that's in a cooler car, (my cougar) is just rude. Sometimes out west, folks do get shot for stuff like that....
