    For sale 69 428CJ Eliminator

NOT MINE… Some of you may remember this car was for sale last year around this time. I was contacted by the current and sole owner of this 69 Eliminator the middle of last week. He was curious if I was still interested in the car as it had not sold last year. I’m not in the market right now having just picked up a terminator so, I told him I would pass the info and pictures on to some fellow cougar enthusiasts. Here is the break down.

    V.I.N. # 9F91R576377
    Body: 65A
    Color: M
    Trim: 5A
    Date: 29E
    DSO: 41
    Axle: A
    Trans: 6

For those of you who do not speak VIN or door tag:

    Model Year 1969
    Assembly Plant Dearborn, Michigan (F)
    Body Style Standard, Hardtop (91)
Engine Model 428-4V Cobra Jet Ram Air (R)
    Sequential Number 76377
    Exterior Color White (M)
Interior Trim Charcoal Black Corinthian Vinyl and Charcoal Black Levant Patter (5A)
Date Code 29 of May (29E)
District Sales Office Chicago, IL (41)
    Axle Ratio/Type 3.50 Non-Locking (A)
Transmission Model 4-Speed Manual (2.32 Close Ratio) (6)

    41,164 miles on it

    Info from previous post:

I am the original owner; I bought the car new on 6-30-1970, and have the original owner’s card to prove it. I bought the car from Skyway Motors in Chicago. There is a minor rust spot on bottom corner of driver and passenger doors. Options include power steering, power brakes (disc in front, drums in back), factory hood scoop and hood pins. The car has never been restored, still has the original paint. The car is located in Door County Wisconsin, about an hour north of Green Bay.

Asking $65,000 but is willing to talk.

Original paint but no rear spoiler? I wonder if the owner still has the spoiler that would have come in the trunk?

It would have been shipped in the trunk with the chin spoiler. Many never got put on and some still reside in the rafters forgotten about (I presume).

Any idea why the price went from $44,000 to $65,000 in one year? Even with the low miles and original owner and all that good stuff, I'm sure the car would need new paint: if not everwhere at least where it's obviously bad. The '69 E-cats look good in white don't they?

The price went to $65 because of his 401k also.

    Question

It seems like white is the scarcest color for '69 Eliminators (with yellow probably being the favorite)...Does Marti's Cougar BTN back this up?

Geeze Matt I just noticed your own car is still not sold :/ I can't believe that. Awesome car for a great price. Wish I had the dollars.

    Best of luck with it.

Thanks. It was all set to sell & meet my reserve until eBay bent me over. Since then, its just been out on some free sites. My wife took the For Sale sign out of the window back in October. From the stuff still floating on the net, and here, I have gotten quite a few nibbles, but never a second look...

EDIT* Just got an email inquiry on this! LOL
