    429 Turbo Jet?

I saw this on craigslist and wondered what the heck it is. I have never heard of a turbo jet before. I tried to do a quick Google search on it with nothing. Any one ever heard of this engine? I am not the seller nor am I interested in buying it. Just curious.

He is confused. Generic Motors used the "turbo-" prefix on several engines and transmissions over the years, not Ford.

Most likely he has a "Thunderjet" 429 engine which is the low performance 4V motor used in Torino, Montego, T-Birds, full size Mercurys and Fords.

    Thanks Royce,
I thought that would be the case. I was going to give him a call after I get off work just because I was curious.
