    1970 COUGAR CONVERTIBLE 10k

    1970 COUGAR CONVERTIBLE

The first $10,000 cash will take this convertible home. I've got $16,000 in her but now need to move on. Please read below for details - you can drive this car anywhere, totally professionally mechanically redone, along with new paint. Just drove the Cougar over the weekend to Ojai & back - it hums. There is nothing to be done mechanically on this car, it has all been done.

    351-Cleveland engine
    4 barrel Holly carb
    Power steering
    Front Disc Brakes
    Air-conditioning
    Power top w/glass folding window
Eliminator Hood scoop & Eliminator Spoiler

This is a California blue plate Cougar, ready to drive anywhere. This is my 3rd vintage Cougar convertible, and this one gets more looks than my previous ones (one a 1st place National winner)...probably because of the deep metallic green color (w/camel boot & top - glass window) and the added Eliminator scoop & spoiler. The American racing wheels also add to the lines - a hot looking cat! The car has pretty much been all professionally, mechanically redone - totally new suspension, front end, exhaust system, engine rebuilt with only a few thousand miles (details below). The car is driving great - tight & powerful. Put in a new 4v Holly for the 351 Cleveland, and a super Dynomax Superturbos exhaust system - pricier than the Dynaflow, but I like it better - a 'performance' exhaust but a tad quieter, new on the market. Engine has had a major tune-up and transmission has received a full service, including replacing seals. Upgraded to Petronex electronic ignition & Halogen headlights. Also upgraded to front disc brakes - working great! Cooling system & Power steering system totally serviced, lifetime warranty on radiator replaced last year. New KYB shocks front/rear. Have all records for last 10 years. Car has air-conditioning.

Cat was painted a few months ago & interior seats redone. You can thoroughly drive & enjoy this car anywhere while working on cosmetic details.

    REPLACED:
    Lower/upper arms/ball joints
    Spring seats
    KYB Shocks
Spark plugs, air filter, fuel filter, ignition wire set, distributor cap, PCV, rotor, electronic ignition, ignition coil
    Engine/transmission mounts
    New rear leaf springs, shackles
    Valve cover gasket set
    New Oil pan & gasket
    Speedo cable
    Brake hoses/calipers/brake pads/wheel bearings/caliper hard wear kit
    Alignment
    Master Cylinder/brake booster/rear hose
    Wheel seals
    Tie rod ends
    Coil springs set
    4v Holly
    Intake manifold
    Upper A-arms bushing/shaft set
    Sway bar bushings/links set
    Rear main seal
    Boot kit/power steering
    Outer tie rod ends
    Air conditioning service
    Strut rod bushings kit
    Steel brake lines
    Rear leaf springs bushing
    Battery cables
    Fuel pump
    AC idle step up motor

Thumbs up 70 convert Dark green forsale ??

hi, I've been in the market to replace my 70 cougar that was totaled last Aug. and I've just got the settlement check last week. DO you still have the car for sale ? I tried to check out the pics that you had as a link ,but it said to go to "flicker"site and I had no luck finding your photos. I'm new to the group and I'm not real sure how to get around yet. Please reply to this page (member- Larry C Schott) or to my e-mail camman_02@yahoo.com Thanks!!! Larry PS. I've been into cougars for over 30 years now, I currently have a 70 eliminator clone with a 351 c 40over with a 650 double pumper Holley, MSD ign , in grabber blue and all the eliminator trim ,hood scoop, rear wing ,front lower valance....the works!! The car that was totaled was my sons that we had restored for him and thank God he wasn"t in his daily driver (87 toyota supra terb) or he and his passenger would have been killed by the !@#$ @#$$% that T-boned them by running a red light at about 55mph!! MY first car was a 69 dark green > we both have spent many great hours working on the cars together. THANKs again Larry

Droptopcat70, Your white convert. (pictured) is just like the one that was totaled on me . I'm just messing around on the site trying to get the hang of it , Man do I wish I had this avalible back in the stone age of the late 70's and eairly 80's . It would have been a bigg help on doing all the restore work that was trial and error!!! Larry
