will an Edelbrock Air Gap intake clear the hood on a 1970 351W and other ?'s

Does Edelbrock have a guide for application fitment? do you need to contact their tech? will an edelbrock air gap with a Quick Fuel carb fit under the hood of a 1970 351w?

also, if I use AFR 205's the exhaust ports are raised 1/8" inch. is this a problem? the way I see it, which could be wrong, is that my headers and exhaust will simply be raised 1/8". right ? wrong?

Good questions, I was looking for specs on the air gap myself but couldn't find anything so I'll be watching this thread. Judging from the clearance I have with the headers on my 351w I don't see a problem with 1/8 inch.

I can tell you the AG on a 351C in a 69 w/a QF carb fits with stock (351W) air cleaner base. Hope that helps.

Going up 1/8 inch on the headers may be beneficial looking at mine. Don't know about the air gap - I have read a few people having prob's with clearance even with a dropped base air cleaner? that QF carb is basically a Holley body though - just in case anybody is wondering.

Intake will clear. Carb and air cleaner might not......

ID:	87617I ran an air gap and a 670 cfm Holley, on my 69/351W...I don't know about the headers, but for my car, I would say no, not with out a hole cut out for a scoop....If you look hard, you can just see the top of the chrome air filter...

Without the 1" spacer and using a low profile air cleaner. It looks like it might fit. Barely though... Thanks for the pics!

I switched to a Weiand intake "medium" riser, so I can run the Cougar air cleaner as well.. I will be glad to see how it runs with the roller cam, and Trick Flow heads!!-)

This is a good video that shows the airgap rpm vs just the rpm. I might have to get me an rpm and try the plenum modification they did. Anything would be better than my Torker 2

On my stock 69 351w, there is an Air Gap with ano Edelbrock 600cfm on top. I cannot put on an air cleaner. Top of carb hits under hood insulation. Need a hole, or just swap out intake.
