The brakes on the '73 are driving me completely nuts (not that I wasn't already there--LOL!!). I have searched and read several threads on the subject, but would like more opinions as to my situation. What I have done:

replaced calipers/pads

replaced wheel cylinders

replaced master cylinder (twice)

obviously bled and bled and bled(bench bled both masters)

Both masters were remans. I've tried twice to order a new master at the local ABC parts store, but have received the wrong one twice. I have very strong pressure at both the master and the front discs. Although not as strong as the front, I believe I have sufficient pressure at the rear drums. When I put the new wheel cylinders on the shoes where tight to the drums and the emergency break works.
Now for the persistent problem: I have no peddle unless I pump. If the peddle is just simply pressed it will go all the way to the floor. If given even 1-2 light pumps pressure will build with approx. 1/2 peddle. However, after pumping, if I hold the brake it will eventually go to the floor. Brakes will stop the car fine by lightly pumping, but, of course, this is neither ideal or wise. When the peddle is pumped a 'miss' appears in the engine. It isn't a dramatic, car about to stall miss, but a noticeable change in RPM's and a slightly rougher idle. The pressure valve on the booster tests good. Tomorrow I'm going to pull the rear wheels again just to re-check shoe travel, but I'm leaning towards a booster going/gone bad? Would a bad distribution block cause these symptoms? Am I missing something? A thought just occurred to me that I never checked: is the push rod going into the master cylinder adjustable? Would there be a difference in 'play' from the old master to a new one?
Thanks For Any & All Help!!
Chuck

I removed my ignition switch on the dash of my 69 to find duct tape holding it at the proper angle to fit the bezel. Does anyone know what the retainer looks like to keep the switch at the proper angle to line up with the bezel? If anyone has a picture that would be great help. Thanks

Per schmatic, ignition switch is wired through tach. Does the tach need to be bypassed because of the installed Pertronix/hot coil unit (resistance issues?); if this is the case, how do I wire tach so that both the tach and pertronix/hot coil unit all work?

Also, how can I check to see if the tach itself is working (as ignition wire goes directly through tach)....this may be why the tach is currently bypassed???????

I'm looking to add something to the front end of my 69. I was going to get a chin spoiler from JCC but after seeing some pics of the front bumper guards, I'm not sure which one I'd like better. From what I've heard (it may not be right), but doesn't the chin spoiler help a little with the handling of the car in terms of wind flow underneath? That would be another factor to weigh. The spoiler at JCC won't be in for a couple weeks so I have time before I make my decision, so any opinions on pros and cons or the look of both would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for the advice!
I need to paint a new steering column (putting in a tilt/tilt away) and some vinyl dash and console pieces... Does anyone know where I can buy paint and dye that will match and look correct? I have bought 2 different part numbers of parchment SEM dye/paint and neither is close. One is part # 39143 which is light parchment, its the closest but not really close... SEM makes good stuf and I like their stuff, but its not right...
Does anyone have any suggestions? Is the Mustang Parchment the same/right color???
I have a 2 bbl ona 302 model year 1968. I don't knw what parts I need to put this assembly back in place. I have looked on the WCCC site but the part that I see does not look like it is long enugh or have the necessary bends to get from "A" to "B". I wonder if anyone can help medetermine what I need to get the job done? Maybe someone has an extra set? Any help is much apprediated. I talked to a mechanic at a local restoration shop and he told me I needed to have these parts installed if I want to contine using the car on a regular basis or I risk doing damage to the transmission. This is something I would like to avoid if at all possible.
Thanks in advance to all who read and and can help with this post.
